Lionel is an operations leader with a global outlook, a commitment to excellence and a passion for delivering on Allianz Global Assistance's promise to help customers anytime, anywhere. He has lived and worked in France, the US, and the UK, and recently moved to Australia to take up the role of Chief Operating Officer.

His collaborative and empathetic approach enables him to manage and give confidence to 350 operations professionals including: claim handling consultants, doctors, nurses, call centre agents, project managers and business analysts, quality, procurement and network specialists.

Prior to being entrusted to run operations in Australia, Lionel was a valued Allianz Global Assistance employee, managing global initiatives from the company’s Paris headquarters for over two years. He successfully established and grew four Global Operations Centres, and led a project to modularise the product portfolio within Allianz Global Assistance, leveraging the active involvement of 14 business units internationally.

With an MBA, Masters in Business, Accounting and Finance, and more than 15 years spent in the finance sector across multiple industries, Lionel has an incredible depth of knowledge and experience. His expertise includes business transformation, strategy formulation and execution, project management, sales, and operational and financial assessments.

Prior to working for Allianz Global Assistance, Lionel applied his strong financial and commercial abilities to manage large-scale projects with The Boston Consulting Group, and also held several management positions at Barclays Capital.
