Kym was posing for a photo near a waterfall when he slipped and fell 30 metres. He was touring the Koh Samui region, which is home to many pristine beaches, rivers and waterfalls. Kym was following the marked path to reach the top of the falls, when he lost his balance near the edge of the unfenced track. Kym hurt his back and was struggling to move. A fellow traveller climbed down to help Kym remain calm and still. Kym was placed on a spinal board and transported to the closest hospital. Kym’s friend called the travel insurer to ensure the treatment Kym was receiving was appropriate. The travel insurance provider covered the expenses of Kym’s medical care and kept his family up to date with his progress.
