Ricky fell off his bike during a cycling tour, resulting in fractured ribs, an injured shoulder and a collapsed lung. He was rushed to hospital where he was informed that he would not be fit to fly for at least 4 weeks. As the hospital was not in a large city, he required an interpreter to clarify the quickest and safest treatment. Ricky called his travel insurance provider who organised to cover his medical care, additional accommodation and a transfer to a hospital where there were English-speaking doctors. They also organised and covered his flights once he was well enough to return back to Australia.
