Tony slipped on the stairs in his hotel and tore a ligament, which doctors later said required surgery. The hotel performed first aid immediately on Tony after the fall and sent him to the hospital in an ambulance. Unable to move his right leg, Tony requested surgery in Australia. He called his travel insurance provider immediately on arrival to the hospital, and they consulted with the local doctors. It was agreed that Tony could be safely transferred back to Australia for the surgery. His travel insurance provider covered his overseas medical costs as well as his flights back to Australia.
