Rough seas soak luggage

Carol’s luggage was destroyed after a boat transfer. Indonesia is made up of over 17,000 small islands, and speed boat transfer is a popular way for people to move between them. After arriving at her destination, Carol waited for her luggage to be unloaded but nothing came. She asked the boat crew about her belongings. They revealed that her suitcases had been severely water damaged during the trip.  Outraged, Carol called the ferry company to get an explanation. The company apologised and provided a letter explaining that the water damage was caused by bad weather and rough seas. Carol contacted her travel insurer and was reimbursed for her damaged luggage.
